Working around the clock.
Hereva provided project management services for Foundation Medicine’s QSR compliant lab and office space upgrade, offering support for everything from team selection to final delivery. Maintaining strict schedule control was pivotal to the project’s success, as it required working in spaces that were occupied and running 24/7.
Project completed in 2019.
About the project
When Foundation Medicine embarked on updating their existing QSR compliant lab and associated office space, they knew it would be a challenging project. Hereva Consultants was brought onboard to provide overall project management at each phase of the project, beginning with team selection and through project delivery.
The ambitious project scope involved converting a conference room to Block Return lab space, creating an expanded QSR compliant lab and upgrading meeting rooms with new AV, sound attenuation and furniture, as well as the installation of a new electrical closet.
Because the space was in use during the renovation, intense schedule coordination with user groups was essential to allow existing internal deadlines to remain on track, with the lab occupied and functioning 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and staff working in two shifts. The phased demolition and renovations were carefully timed in consideration of this unique shift schedule, along with the added challenge of long lead items for new equipment and highly vibration-sensitive equipment.
